I was making lazy pasta (oil & cheese instead of sauce), and threw a pinch of crushed red pepper into the water on a whim. It's good! Not a technique I'd ever heard of before, but watch.. Italian nonnas are going to explode from the ether to tell me that's Pasta 101 stuff.

Stop GNOME Software Background
To avoid GNOME Software from running in the background, you can take several approaches based on the solutions discussed in the context.

One effective method is to disable the autostart entry for GNOME Software. This can be done by copying the file /etc/xdg/autostart/gnome-software-service.desktop to ~/.config/autostart and adding X-GNOME-Autostart-enabled=false at the end

Many times I talk with people and they mention they draw too and just bought a super expensive tablet with super software etc etc. to be 'a professional artist'.

I always tell them: Take a paper and pencil, draw something. If it doesn't look good, you need to practice more, and buying expensive stuff is just a waste of money.

There's a lot you can do with just a €6,- bottle of ink and a €2,- 'student' brush. If it doesn't work, just practice a bit more.
