YouTube cancels premium subscriptions taken out via VPN
Users were able to subscribe to YouTube Premium cheaply via VPN by moving to Ghana, for example. But now Google is taking action against such subscriptions.
With #GoogleChrome preventing extensions like #uBlockOrigin working properly anymore, would setting up #AdBlocking via #NextDNS be a viable alternative instead?

EDIT: Nothing in the DDG UI *site-search* seems to indicate it's also available there. It would be a massive boon, though. Even easier! I use #VivaldiBrowser's #adblocker, and I don't even see the popup :)
@choam if privacy is your concern then you should use @brave. It still supports #ManifestV2, but also comes with a built-in #AdBlocker, and third party cookie blocking. Furthermore it still supports #DoNotTrack which Firefox is phasing out, so technically it's *more* private, and also MUCH faster!
I fully understand I have an #adblocker on and no I will not consider turning it off unless you remove all tracking from your ads and sites. Oh yeah make the ads unobtrusive. I would be willing to pay for a reasonable pay per article system with no ads.
Yeah, actually I'm not using an "ad blocker". I'm denying life-invading trackers (like facebook, etc) that give billionaires unnecessary data about my life that's only going to be hacked or sold off anyway. F off #CBS #adblocker

Funfact: Sobald auf einer Webseite der Hinweis erscheint, dass ich einen #Adblocker aktiviert habe, weiß ich direkt, dass diese Seite nicht zur Verbesserung meines Wohlbefindens beitragen kann und schließe sie augenblicklich. Das spart mir so viel Zeit und ich behalte meine gute Laune!

Ich guck nicht viel #YouTube am Rechner, aber habe - dank eines Videoplugins, das "auch" Werbung blockiert - in den letzten paar Tagen die Youtube-#Adblocker-Eskalation erlebt:
1. (Letzte Woche noch) Video lädt deutlich länger (weil Adblocker entdeckt wurde), aber ohne Hinweis.
2. (Letzten Freitag) Video bekommt ein Pop-Up, dass das Abspielen wegen des Adblockers verzögert wurde.
3. (Gerade eben) Info-Pop-Up: "Wegen des Adblockers wird die Videowiedergabe nach 3 Videos für Sie abgestellt."
I sometimes wondered why I see ads that my #AdBlocker 1Blocker should have blocked.
Turns out the 1Blocker app needs to at least run in the background to update it‘s filters. So, for #iPhone and #ipad I created #shortcutapp automations to start 1Blocker once a week so that it has a chance to update the filter lists.
