China Airlines z Tajwanu dołączyła do linii lotniczych obsługujących funkcję iOS „Udostępnij lokalizację przedmiotu”, umożliwiającą pasażerom i obsłudze lotniska łatwiejsze odnalezienie bagażu z AirTagiem.

Nowość wprowadzona w iOS 18.2 pozwala tymczasowo udostępnić lokalizację bagażu przez aplikację Znajdź. Link można wysłać pracownikowi linii lotniczej, który po zalogowaniu Apple ID lub zweryfikowanym e-mailem partnera może śledzić bagaż na żywej mapie.

Funkcja jest bezpieczna – dostęp mają tylko wybrane osoby, link wygasa po 7 dniach, a udostępnianie można zakończyć w każdej chwili.

Oprócz China Airlines, funkcję wspierają też m.in. American Airlines, Delta, United, Lufthansa, Air Canada i Virgin Atlantic.

All this time I thought Apple's Find My app was a way to locate where someone was now. I was wrong. With the way the app positions someone 100s of m away from where they really are and then rapidly relocates them 100s of m in some random location several times before settling down (or giving up), I'm thinking it's really just a poorly designed pinball game.

Does anyone have tips for efficiently using the increasingly confusing #FindMy app with #VoiceOver? Between the overly complex map that's useless to me, seemingly random ordering of controls, and unclear device/item selection, I spend more time being bewildered than actually finding the AirPods I drop on the floor.

For example: I go to the Items tab, and locate my specific AirPods on the map. That in itself isn't very obvious, because it shows AirPods I haven't used for months first. When I tap on the right ones, sometimes it selects them, and sometimes it doesn't. When it does, it shows controls either for the case or a specific AirPod (left or right) and I have no idea how to change it.

I usually just want to open the app, choose the left or right AirPod of a specific set, and play a sound on it.
