看到 Django 5.2 的公告，裡面列出了比較重大的改變，其中一個注意到的是支援 Composite (Compound) Primary Key 了：「Django 5.2 released」，完整的 release notes 則是在「Django 5.2 release notes」這邊可以看到。 就是因為這些 ORM library 不支援 compsite primary key，所以才會有 best (?) practice 要求每個表格都要有 primary key，而且是單一欄位... 大家應該都習以為常了，怎麼會突然在 2025 年才想要支援？ …

Last night, the #habs lost in overtime against #nyi. Today, I was listening to all sorts of commentaries on the game, but not one touched on the fact that the #pk let 2 goals in 3 attempts. Yet it was barely mentioned in passing. However, as I was saying Monday & showed on a PK chart, the #Canadiens never win when they give 2 goals during PK. The #SJS game seems to contradict that, but the PK had a short handed goal. If I add those to the chart, it is clearer:

Penalty Kill chart for the Montreal Canadiens, per game. Blue above zero is penalty kill, blue below zero is short handed goal (overlaid to have net goals on PK below that) and goals against during PK in red, below zero. Every game with 2 net goals against on PK is a loss for #gohabsgo Montreal.

While the PP in on a good trajectory, how about the #PK? It is crucial to the #Canadiens. It was 1st in atlantic division of #nhl at 81.4% when I calculated on Saturday.

When the #habs give 2 or more goals during penalties, they lose. One exception this season was on Feb 4, where they gave the #Sharks 2 PP goals, but Armia scored a shortie late in the third, so technically the PK was -1, not -2.

Exception on Feb 27 where they had 0 minute of penalty, so no PK. The PK units have done well since the 4 nations face off return, except against Seattle where they gave 2 goals, leading to an overtime loss. Historically this season, they haven't done too well against the Kraken or Toronto (and that one game against the Ranger on Nov 30th).

There has been a good bit of talk by some #montreal #canadiens fans and some #nhl #hockey sports commentators about Patrik Laine. About the lack of 5 on 5 production. But really, that to me is a non issue right now. The #habs got him for his PP. In pre-season, the PP units were 0 in 30. Yes, that's right. Laine got injured in his 2nd pre-season game really early.

He came back on December 3rd. I was curious of the before / after of the #pp (and #pk which i'll post separately). See alt text!

Bar chart for the season, with unsuccessful power play opportunities in red, below zero and PP goals in blue, above zero. Loses are hashed. Exception is December 31st / January 28 with zero penalty minutes. Before Laine came back, many 4 to 6 opportunities per game, with zero to 1 PPG and many loses despite that. One game against Buffalo (W, 7-5) had two PP goals, the exception. After Dec 3rd, losses are a lot more distributed. 10 losses when no PPG, 6 losses with 1 PPG (one game Laine didn't play). Most games with 3 to 4 opportunities and 1 PPG, with 5 games with 2 or more goals, all W for the Canadiens (including an outlier 6-1 W against Buffalo, where Laine had a hat trick of power play goals)
