So for some reason Safari thought it was still my default browser despite me having it set to Arc so links have been opening in Safari and I couldn't figure out why
Apparently just toggling the default browser setting back to Safari and then back to Arc worked so that's solved…still odd

@matt @manu @jni @jensimmons @igalia @WebKitGTK @WPEWebKit AFAIK, Apple's Safari - unlike Firefox - avoids using dedicaded hardware accelerators unless that's deemed more energy-efficient for the platform it runs on.
To the Safari team's credit, their link capturing ability to open webpages in the respective web app works remarkably well. Even between web apps it does it correctly. The occasional hiccup typically makes sense too, like if there's a subdomain, or there's a URL redirect involved with a different domain (like protected links from Outlook(dot)com email). #macOS #safaribrowser

And the one bug I’ve hated most persists. If you open a web app, and you’ve set it only to appear in one desktop, when it opens it’ll jump you to that desktop but the window appears in the one you were on. #safaribrowser #macOS
I have had to abandon #SafariBrowser due to all of the load issues. I can't just open 20 tabs from my favorites without half of them throwing an error. So many sites just start to stall out and slow to a crawl. #YouTube will constantly load incorrectly. Just not worth my time…
@jensimmons any chance we could get more of the capability of the Apple Pencil exposed in Safari? It would of course be non standard extensions to PointerEvent but it's limiting the capability of pro web creative tooling! #safaribrowser #apple
As much as I love this feature, how long until website spoof it by making everything seemingly dynamic causing them to update often rendering the feature worthless?

Apple says Safari protects your privacy. We fact-checked those claims.
On #Mastodon I use the "advanced web interface" in to display lists, home feed, and followed hashtags in a multi-column layout in a computer browser (Vivaldi).
But when I use Fediverse in the browser on mobile, I switch to normal view owing to the multi-column view being illegible on small screen because the browser (#iOS with #SafariBrowser ) doesn't automatically create scroll bars.
Do you use advanced web view? And do you also use it on mobile – in which browser?
Do mobile apps display followed hashtags in the home feed, too?
Do mobile apps support multi-column layout?

The ad also has some strong Hitchcock vibes: “As a general rule, if you have to explain why people should care about your product or feature, you should do it in as simple a way as possible. That's what this ad does. Also, if you can make them laugh (even if it's only because your ad is over the top and a little goofy), that helps.”

Do you remember when Safari browser first hit the scene? Launched in January 2003 by Apple, Safari version 1.0 was a game-changer for Mac users, offering a sleek and fast alternative to Internet Explorer. With its user-friendly interface and innovative features like tabbed browsing, Safari quickly became the go-to web browser for millions. #TechNostalgia #Early2000s #SafariBrowser #AppleHistory #VintageTech #RetroTechnology #WebBrowsing
Under Sonoma 14.5, Safari and Tech Preview are constantly crashing. Usually with cmd-w keyboard commands, but that may not matter. Anyone else? No plugins active.
