Got a new video up in Early Access on Patreon called "11 Things You Probably Didn't Know About Space Quest."

I've had a few cancel their support recently so if stuff like seeing videos early sounds like your jam, give my Patreon some consideration. No pressure, of course.

When it comes to my retro games collection, I am usually trying to find every variant and every available version of a game. Sometimes, this is pretty easy. For games like "Space Quest I - The Sarien Encounter", it is not.

I just added Version 2.2, Interpreter 2.426, 3.5" / 720K as a copy protected TeleDisk disk image. It works!

Holy cow, this was a bit tricky. Earlier tonight, I had found some "Space Quest" disk images from an old Apple IIgs. I wanted to check them out in ScummVM.

First, I had to find a way to extract the data from these A2R images, then rename and collect all of the necessary files. Took me quite a while to get the in-game music playing, but in the end ... everything worked! The game's soundtrack on the IIgs is glorious! It's even better than what's possible on the Amiga!

These are the disk images I'd found:

When you want to play the original Space Quest from 1986, nothing beats the Amiga version and the experience of the Workbench interface. You can even play with a mouse! I'm loving this so much!

NEW VIDEO: Did Space Quest V ruin the character of Roger Wilco? Is he a space-knight in shining armor or a guy just looking to save his own ass? Watch me and Highbury Hazard have a gentlemen's argument about the matter.

Finally, a comprehensive insight into the (let's be honest) troubled development of #SpaceVenture, the spiritual successor to Space Quest. It's been over a decade since the game was first announced and it's been a rough ride. A lot of myths and misinformation have arisen around the project, so it's great to finally hear one of the devs set the record straight. youtu.be/XLfEoyLLxNk
