Strange to be diving into the season that just (in our Hemisphere, at least) drew to a dramatic close, but nevertheless... Rites of Spring for Changeling: the Lost gets into details of Glamour and the fae's talents therein. The eponymous Court is associated with desire: to create, to change, to explore, to survive, all of which underlies the flourishes of Lost magic. 🌷

Tread most carefully: changelingthepodcast.com/podca

With hearts not nearly heavy enough for the Winter Court's bailiwick of sorrow, we open up their associated book for Changeling: the Lost 1e, Winter Masques. The theme at play is diversity, and the text leans into that with a surfeit of character options. New kiths, new Courts, new takes on Seemings and their significance... join us for a semi-anonymous dance through the frost-rimed pages. ❄️

Art thou afear'd? Be not afear'd... we are exploring the expression of that emotion in Autumn Nightmares, the first supplement for Changeling: the Lost 1e. Renegades, Keepers, fetches, and more abound in this densely-packed tome of antagonists. (Seriously, there are a ton.) Join us to learn and better understand their workings, and thereby fear them less—we hope. 🍂

At last! We're concluding our deep dive of the 1e Lost corebook with two appendices, overall thoughts on the book, and listener questions. It's been a JOURNEY—but our exploration into the Library of the Lost shall continue now and then, as we wend our way through the supplements. We hope this dive has piqued enough of your interest to stick with us... the Hedge, as always, awaits.🍀

Various and sundry: changelingthepodcast.com/podca

The work continues! We're getting into the third and fourth mammoth chapters of the CtL 1e corebook this week, from dreamweaving to Hedge-dueling and everything in between. Changeling's systems and storytelling stand it apart from the other nWoD games; this is where those differences really come to light. Here be friends and foes alike, and the many ways to deal with both. 🌲

Follow the trod a bit further: changelingthepodcast.com/podca

Here goes something! Today begins our dive into the 1e corebook for Changeling: the Lost, a chomker of a text that will take a trilogy of episodes to get through. But it's a deep well of ideas for any game, so we hope you'll find something to use and appreciate. Stories of abduction and return, Wyrd and Glamour, seemings and kiths, Courts and Contracts... and this is just the first half. 🌵

Peek into the Thorns: changelingthepodcast.com/podca

What went on behind the scenes in between Changeling: the Dreaming and Changeling: the Lost? We can't claim to have uncovered ALL the secrets, but today we're digging up at least a few details as we talk with Pete Woodworth about the process of writing and developing from one game to the other. Peek into the Hedge and see what we learned... 🚪

Stories and context abound: changelingthepodcast.com/podca

We draw ever closer to the Hedge this week as we discuss the intro materials for Changeling: the Lost's first edition. The quickstart rules and demo adventure, the screen and character sheet pad, the fancy dice... all this preliminary stuff set the game's aesthetic and stoked the hype. Looking to dip your toes in? Well, have we got a dank and mysterious kiddie pool for you! 📗

Bits and fragments: changelingthepodcast.com/podca

And now for something completely (well, significantly) different...! Pooka and Fetch join forces to discuss the (new) World of Darkness corebook, 1st edition. Released in 2004, this is the ur-text for Changeling: the Lost, readthroughs of which will be ongoing this Season. If you've never delved into nWoD—or maybe even if you have?—now's your chance to learn a thing or two... 🌃

This week, we talk about the arrival of Changeling: the Lost onto the (at the time) nWoD scene. The successor game to Changeling: the Dreaming kept the fae's seat at the table warm, though the setting diverges quite a bit from what we're used to. It's a superb game—in its own way. We're exploring its similarities, differences, and impact from our own point of view. 🦋
