️ I recently made the decision to upgrade my #amateurradio. I've had an #Icom IC-7300 for about a year but like that meme of the couple walking and the guy looking back toward another girl, an Icom IC-7610 has been turning my head.
Sooo, I put in an order from the local Ham Radio Outlet and it will be delivered today.
Therefore, I'm needing to re-home my IC-7300. Anybody in the market for one of the best, entry-level HF/6m transceiver?

soll ab Mitte Juni bei #Wimo verfügbar sein. Aber bitte was hat man sich in Japan bei der Preisfindung gedacht? Die 10W Version liegt mit 1850€ aktuell 400€ über dem IC705 und die 100W Version (10W Einheit plus angedockte 100W PA) liegt bei 2400€. Mal sehen ob wir hier nur eine Abschöpfungsstrategie sehen und es bald "Cash back" Aktionen gibt. Auch spannen was bei #ICOM passieren wird?

Wow, looks like #yeasu will do a lot of things right with the coming #FTX1. There will be a fitting 100W HF / 50W VHF&UHF PA available. This could be the ideal flexible portable solution and could also replace my shack TRX in the future. So pls Yaesu release the radio, shut up and take my money 
wondering what #ICOM will do with the 705. Maybe we see something in #dayton ?
I ended up solving the screen problem where I'm having hard time to see IC-7000 display in bright light with this.. apparatus :D
Why so strange shape? Well, the radio is typically on a small table and I anyways look at it from angle, so why not make it conform that :)
I bought an used Icom IC-7000 and found out that the display is horrible at outdoors in sunshine today when i was activating WWFF ref.
Then: "Wait a minute, I can write my own display for it!"
First tests going on here. The board is some ESP32 board with oled display. A bit of enclosure and a bit of codety-code and we are good!

Turns out, there’s a lot of smoke in one small compon
A grounding issue made a part in my Icom CT-17 RS-232 interface self-destruct in a dramatic puff of smoke. Thankfully, no fire alarms went off, and it’s an easy fix
(A solid grounding wire is now installed)
