#Scientists in #Japan develop #plastic that dissolves in #seawater within hours
While scientists have long experimented with #biodegradable #plastics, researchers from RIKEN Center for Emergent Matter Science and the Univ of Tokyo say their new material breaks down much more quickly and leaves no residual trace.
Team doesn't have plans for commercialisation, project lead Takuzo Aida said their research has attracted significant interest, including from packaging sector.

I decided to take a critical look at all my kitchenware. I've got rid of all the plastic utensils and bought replacements in either stainless steel or silicone.

I hope it helps me reduce my daily plastic intake, which although still not scientifically conclusive on the long term effects, is absolutely not healthy for the body.

I've also decided to never ever buy plastic bottles nor buy products in plastic bottles like water, soda's, olive oil, sauces ever again. 🙏🏻

So, if you are wondering why I was late to start live post yesterday, this is what I was trying to fix with my friend: It's a Roomba.

First time I've seen a motherboard of a clean base covered in plastic blister pack. Most likley to prevent dust from getting in, but it made it pain in a butt to repair.

I been chewing the cud because there’s flu in the blood
and there’s shit in the water of which none till the flood
there’s more co2 there as proportion of the air
than since complicated life was just a chance damn rare
and though we knew enough to be imbuing the mud
with nutrition as we ought we haven’t understood
or more tellingly forgetting each ecology scare
jesus properly wept seeing us come unprepared
to the dusk of the holocene cos we chose the polythene
teflon gone wrong when there’s non stick copper
with hygienic properties and heat stressed pottery
and that’s just the pots and the crockery
don’t even get me starting with the tupperware
or vinyl extensions in my eldest daughter’s hair
or my baby’s teddy bear always moulting majorly
and we still haven’t named the supply chain slavery
