Haiku(ports) ships KDE frameworks 6.16.0, this is a major update to the 6.13.0 version and should keep us going for a while, the next update will probably happen around the end of the year. This puts us in place and ready when gear 25.08 will be released.

In the meantime keeping track with kde-builder to spot build errors fast enough to push patches upstream. And do some beta testing with Qt6 (atm playing around with 6.10.0-beta1).

Ok seriously this keeps happening today!

I remember playing this game so much as a kid, making multiple save games to use as play test builds before the games allowed you to save multiple setups per save. I have played (nearly) every mainline title since the original and have loved each one, but the original PSX disc holds a special place in my heart.

At some point, the staff at the local daycare center I went to must have found the disc I accidently left behind after being picked up one night and claimed it was theirs, so what did my parents do? Buy me a replacement disc from the local Blockbuster. It still has the security strips on the label, even! I don't even care, it's one of my favorites in my collection.

I recently played the game on stream and was able to beat it within one session, which is wild compared to when I was a kid! Some day I'll get around to playing AC2, AC3, and AC4/AC4A on stream too. Armored Core VI was such a fantastic return to the series, too.

When people hear From Software these days, the games that tend to come to mind are most likely the Soulsborne titles, but Armored Core is just as much one of their titles, as the tough-yet-fair gameplay has always been part of this series identity. The evolution from slow and clunky to high speed anime mecha, before finally landing in the hybrid setting in AC VI, has been such a joy to play through. I will say, though, that the first few titles didn't have analog controls so you'll have to get used to using the shoulder buttons to strafe and look up/down.

Man the influential games just keep hitting lately... I have never had a game give so much value consistently over so much time of my life for so little cost as Minecraft has for me. I bought the game for $5 back when it was still in Indev back in 2011. The moment SMP servers became a thing we had one running for our friend group.

I remember when inventories weren't persisted so we dug a hole, dumped our inventories, logged out, and shut down the server. There was even a custom JAR file that would persist your inventories for you!

We've done vanilla SMP servers, modpacks, custom data packs, you name it! I've played Dwarves vs Zombies, Spleef, so many games born out of and unique to Minecraft itself over the last decade and a half.

I've played kitchen sink packs, challenge packs, questline packs, and even made my own hardcore pack. We even made a custom data pack that causes the entire server to be deleted the moment any of us died (and even streamed the adventures along with edited down a 10-part series recapping the multi-month-long journey we took to defeat the Enderdragon).

Minecraft is as high on my list of forever-games as the likes of Doom, Perfect Dark, and Warframe. I highly believe I would be a different person had I never given this game a try.

Legitimately my favorite Pokémon generation, game, all of it. The fact that you could return to Kanto, the day/night cycle that synced up with the internal clock in the Game Boy, all of it. I may have completed Blue version and got all 151 Pokémon, but I will always cherish Pokémon Silver Edition.
