Trying alternative #SearchEngines and it seems @StartpageSearch has stopped posting on #Mastodon (even stopped posting their own articles) and only posts on the fascist bird site... and though it's based in the EU (but uses US based Bing AND Google on its back end) I'm trying their settings but I can only set my Search Location to US places? 😵

Oh boy, another revolutionary idea to save search engines from the horror of users who can’t articulate their needs 😱. Let’s ditch the scary #chatbots and embrace the magic of MattersRank—because clearly, what we need is more personalized #chaos and less fun on the internet 😂.

Say you have a privacy promise website like duckduckgo. Wouldn't it be prudent to categorise website results according to privacy?

Ideally I want the top results to come from privacy promise websites that don't track or retain my data.

I'd also more happily contribute if the payment system was heavily anonymous and untracked too. Paying with cryptocurrency is superior in this.

@danie10 Something came in to my mind:
When #searchengines do not list results from #peertube it is no surprise, that people don't find that content!
I don´t know about others, but I'm using #qwant since long now and they don't. I just messaged them via their contact form about that. Don't know, if anybody ever really thought about that.
Wondering, if @Qwant is official... ^^

Search Engine Roundtable: Google Tests AI Overviews In Middle Of Search Results Page. UGH. “Google is testing moving the AI Overviews from the top position of the search results page (also known as position zero), to the middle of the search results page. We saw Google test this with featured snippets over the years, so it makes sense Google would test this with AI Overviews.”
