We just got back from an inspiring workshop at Fibershed, where we learned about using invasive plants to make baskets! For example, this is Pampas Grass, an ornamental grass often used for landscaping, despite being an invasive species here in California. Harvesting non-native plants — and then creating beautiful and functional objects out of the material — helps rebalance local ecologies.

Finished my latest weaving project. This was probably more complicated than I should have gone with for my second attempt but it's turned out nice enough. The idea was to turn it into a pillowcase for a throw pillow. The rigid heddle loom I have isn't the widest so I'm not sure that's going to work super well.
