I've installed Cachy #cosmic desktop edition and wow, this packaging needs a bit of work. Any distro including it while it's in Alpha really need to be taking regular snapshots and not just relying on the last tag. Also, not installing the Cosmic Store and choosing SDDM as the greeter are certainly interesting choices...

So far no issues. It works even better than some other Wayland compositors for me out of the box (even on nvidia!)

Do you have some plans for a browser to be delivered with #popos / #cosmic?

A suggestion if you get bored: you could make a simple UI wrapper using #libcosmic (or #iced) for #servo. Would fit well with #rust goals...

I mainly use X11 with LeftWM for everyday work. But as a backup, I always keep GNOME/Wayland available — also as a way to show respect to GNOME, which was my desktop environment during my college years. Now, I'm considering replacing GNOME with Cosmic Desktop for that role. #Linux #cosmic #cosmic_de
