#seeds

Today we received a little packet of four teardrop-shaped #seeds from China.

We do not know why.

My #security-focused or anime-raddled brain I'm not sure which or if there's a difference is filled with possible ways in which this may be an #attack vector. Not the least of which is destabilising of Western Civilisation through sheer paranoia. (Just as well I don't believe in Western Civilisation, eh?)

But I may be missing out on the chance to grow something beautiful?

Good morning. ☕☕☕

The coffee’s bitter this morning—two days of rich Savannah Coffee Roasters brew now replaced by Folgers. Yesterday, my wife, daughter, and three granddaughters went shopping, an outing my granddaughters had been buzzing about. Meanwhile, the guys and I stayed home, though we had our own mini adventure. We swung by Savannah Coffee Roasters, where I picked up three small bags of beans, priced for tourists. The whole stop took five minutes… maybe ten. Afterwards, we had lunch at The Flying Monk, a noodle joint serving dishes from around the world, mostly Asian. I ordered ramen—my go-to comfort food. This time, I just wanted some that hadn’t come out of a packet. It was excellent. Later, I found myself quietly jealous—the ladies stopped at the Peach Cobbler Factory, and I missed out on the sweet finale. 😢

A bucket of seed pods from a single kale plant is quite a lot.

What makes this more unusual is that the plant continues to make new leaves which are soft and sweet, no bitterness at all.

If we were better organized, we'd have a shoe box with empty seed packets and the location of the plants to trace variants.

We don't, 🙂.

So, the seed bag is labeled "Kale at the back fence".
