Good morning.

The coffee’s bitter this morning—two days of rich Savannah Coffee Roasters brew now replaced by Folgers. Yesterday, my wife, daughter, and three granddaughters went shopping, an outing my granddaughters had been buzzing about. Meanwhile, the guys and I stayed home, though we had our own mini adventure. We swung by Savannah Coffee Roasters, where I picked up three small bags of beans, priced for tourists. The whole stop took five minutes… maybe ten. Afterwards, we had lunch at The Flying Monk, a noodle joint serving dishes from around the world, mostly Asian. I ordered ramen—my go-to comfort food. This time, I just wanted some that hadn’t come out of a packet. It was excellent. Later, I found myself quietly jealous—the ladies stopped at the Peach Cobbler Factory, and I missed out on the sweet finale.
