Years later, a review finally concludes that Anne Sacoolas should have been arrested after she killed 19 year old Harry Dunn.
Sacoolas, an American, had not been in England long when she drove on the wrong side of the ride, killing Dunn.
She was an American diplomat and officers incorrectly claimed they could not hold her due to diplomatic immunity.
Rather than be held accountable for what was tragic, but not morally wrong, Sacoolas opted to flee the country. She scurried back to the US, denying Dunn's family and loved ones justice or closure.
Her decision to leave speaks volumes about who Anne Sacoolas is. Shame on her.
The review finds she "could and should have been arrested".
In the future, if you're a diplomat in another country and accused of wrongdoing, don't be surprised if you stay locked up until trial. You can thank cowards like Anne Sacoolas for taking advantage of the system.
I sincerely hope Dunn's loved ones are doing as well as possible.
