"Daily You" (on F-Droid) posted a very nice update today. They added an "Import from other App" option, which includes Diarium.

I started using my first journal app in 2007, then a few years later migrated to Day One. Then later, Diarium.

Collectively, I have about 18 years of journal entries. But until now, I couldn't import them into Daily You. Today, all entries (and photos), imported without incident. Nice!

IzzyOnDroid Repo Browser„Daily You“ – IzzyOnDroid F-Droid RepositoryEvery day is worth remembering…

The following unattributed quote is a good reason why I write down my thoughts either in my journal @dayoneapp or my notes app (notion) or on my blog.

“writing is the process by which you realise that you do not understand what you are talking about.”

Write things down, doesn't matter where, just write it down.

Continued thread

Me and #dayone , we share some history anyway, with over 10k entries since 2013. For something working so well over long periods of time a transition has to be properly tested and thought out, I guess.
I don't trust Automattic and I believe I should not invest in their products, but the Apps they've acquired are generally left alone - DayOne is still OK, Pocketcasts is still the best podcasts around and the only one where AW app actually works as it should.

I am still hesitating to make a move on #journelly. Partially because I lack some features I use in DayOne a lot - videos, audio recordings (esp. from my AW), maybe even encryption... Partially also because I see a lot of overlap in how people use it with #denote. And I think denote is a better place for loose notes because it produces separate files. Such atomicity makes a lot of things easier. So, I've bought it but I think I will wait it out so far, maybe for another year with #dayone.

@ProPublica
It is… "fascinating" (for lack of a better word) how much of #DonTheCon's policies AND popular support is drawn from #racism.

Think of all the #DayOne promises he made & failed to achieve: Bring prices down, end the war in #Ukraine, retrieve the hostages in #Gaza… etc & so on.

"Round up gang members & terrorists and #deport them" became: going after the low-hanging fruit of UNAdjudicated migrants already in jail & foreign-born protesters on college campuses.

AND THEY DON'T CARE.
