Sicher haben einige von euch ein Pixel mit #Graphene, ne? Welche praktischen Einschränkungen gibt's damit denn im alltäglichen Betrieb? Funktionieren zB. Benachrichtigungen? Funktioniert die Kamera so wie sie soll? Was sollte ich vorher sonst wissen?

Hintergrund: Ich kann im Herbst ein neues Firmenhandy bekommen, mein Fairphone 5 hat ne Anschlussnutzung und ich überleg, statt dem neuen Fairphone 6 ein Pixel zu besorgen und Graphene raufzumachen.

News of the UK emergency alert test in September made me go check if I have them enabled, and I'm curious about this little lack of localisation. I assume the national alert test will be under the function of 'presidential alerts' here, even though we very much do not have a president in this country.

I wonder if that's an #Android thing or a #Graphene thing?

somebody should make a better ICE tracker, for fun.

maybe with ZKP.

maybe over Tor.

maybe P2P.

importantly:

1. it should have a good site that gets the point across
2. it should be easy to use and understand
3. it should do the primary function

&

4. it should fix what you're complaining about the ICE block app (without breaking what the ICE block app already does)

good documentation, PR & UX outwin "more sound designs" every time.

Seeing the latest #google nonsense with #gemini on #android, I guess what I want is a simple phone with a data connection, and a pocket sized linux device or a different OS in my android phone. I can live without pay-by-phone, and I am fed up having to play with the settings to disable things companies feel it is quite OK to add with the default of enabled. I even feel that my preferences would be ignored, and my privacy invaded anyway! Then I need to convince people I contact that WhatsApp is not a solution. I might just become an #XMPP evangelist (once I have a server and client set up...). I have already set up a discourse instance for my local community band, to encourage less dependence on WhatsApp...

History & Plan:
2020: no more Apple devices
2025: (planned) - Microsoft cancellation and windows deletion
2025: investigate alternatives to android phone... Since I use a Google Pixel, I guess this could be #graphene, or #postmarketos ...

By analyzing the thermodynamic and kinetic factors that drive pattern formation, we identify remarkable similarities in the underlying mechanisms despite dimensional differences. The research reveals that pattern diversity in both systems is governed by similar principles of edge kinetics, surface diffusion, and environmental conditions. un piccolo fastidioso problema e uno un po piu complicato.

Il piccolo problema è lo sblocco del telefono

Ho una malattia reumatica e le dita e le mani mi fanno molto male, quindi uso lo sblocco facciale con piacere e SOLIEVO (anche se meno sicuro).

Purtroppo questa funzione non è disponibile su nessuno dei sistemi operativi che ho provato al momento.

The small problem is unlocking the phone. I have a rheumatic disease so my fingers and hands hurt a lot so I use the face unlock with pleasure and relief (although less secure). This function is unfortunately not available on any of the OS's I've tried at the moment.

@dploeger Hi! Ich kämpfe seit der Installation von #graphene vor ein paar Wochen mit mir, ob / wann ich es wieder de-installiere. Das Telefon wird oft erschreckend heiß, und manchmal funktioniert es einfach nicht mehr. Nach einem Neustart zeigt sich dann, dass ein Update gemacht wurde, und dann muss man noch 2x neu starten. Nach einem Absturz wird gefragt, ob man das melden will, und wenn man "ja" klickt, wird man auf eine Seite geleitet, auf der ich nichts posten kann. 😞
