He took the Sandia recipe, created in 2016 by David Valdez at Simbal (Little Tokyo, Los Angeles; now closed), and turned it into a highball by adding soda water. WITHOUT FACULTY

¾ oz lemon juice
½ oz ginger syrup
½ oz banana liqueur
2 oz bourbon
float Bittermens 'Elemakule Tiki bitters

Garnish: banana slice
Method: Combine all ingredients except bitters in a shaker with one large ice cube and shake. Strain over a large rock of clear ice, float the bitters, and garnish with banana.

I saw this from IG anatomyofadrink and happened to have everything on hand. Always nice when that happens. He reports that it came from Tony Burke who honors his dad, a fan of both bananas foster and ginger, and who does NOT drink because he doesn't want to "lose control of my faculties."

ISLAND WINE

¾ oz lime juice
½ oz passion fruit syrup
half a passion fruit
2½ oz white vermouth
3-4 dashes Angostura bitters

Garnish: passion fruit in the shell, mint sprig, swizzle stick
Method: Cut the passionfruit in half, scoop one half into the glass and set the other half aside for garnish. Add remaining ingredients and fill the glass ⅔ full with crushed ice. Swizzle until glass becomes frosty. Add more ice and garnish.

A refreshing, relatively low ABV crusher for the summer heat. No spirit involved so you can treat yourself to a second one no problem ;) I saw this on IG servedbysoberon and it's an original of his.

Tonight's #aperitivo #aperitif is the #dirtymartini From Twenty8 NoMad

60ml vodka
20ml olive brine
10ml vermouth dry
15ml Cap Corse Bianco
A barspoon of extra virgin olive oil

Pour everything in a jar and let rest for two hours, then put it in the freezer, let the oil solidify and strain. Add 10ml water and put everything in freezer again, ready to serve in a chilled coupe and garnish with an olive.

It's more than filthy! And maybe it's not everyone's cup of tea

80ml Hendrick's Grand Cabaret gin
20ml Cap Corse Bianco
20ml water

Bottle everything and freeze for at least 6 hours, then pour in a chilled coupe and garnish with a lemon twist.
This is a marvelous mellow #Martini, highly recommended

Tonight's #aperitivo #aperitif is a #freezermartini 4:1:1 ratio:

80ml gin
20ml vermouth dry
20ml water

Pour everything in a small bottle and put it in the freezer, along with a coupe, for at least 6 hours .
Pour the mixture in the coup, garnish with a lemon twist, and enjoy! So cold and perfect that it makes me feel civilized!
