@BrodieOnLinux Need #X11 Window System for #fvwm3, #xterm (does it work directly on Wayland without any other X11 dependency?), & #TigerVNC server & client.
I am unsure if #IceWM (backup window manager) works with Wayland.
For FreeBSD v14 & Rocky Linux (v8 & possibly v10) feel free to suggest floating-window customizable window manager (do not care for hyprland regardless) & multi-user VNC client & server which would work with Wayland directly.
Oh, one more thing, does Tk work with Wayland directly?

Fun week!
Brought my old MacBook Air (2010, 2GB RAM) back to life with antiX 23 Full, booting from a persistent USB. Running the zzz-IceWM setup.
LibreOffice, browser, Wi-Fi — everything works surprisingly well. No systemd, no Snap, no bloat. Boots fast, uses less than 500MB RAM idle.
Still fine-tuning themes and getting NTP/date sync to persist, but honestly impressed how usable this is for daily light tasks.
Ist #LibreOffice langsamer geworden?
Version: 25.2.3.2 (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 520(Build:2)
CPU threads: 16; OS: Linux 6.14; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3
Locale: de-DE (de_DE.UTF-8); UI: de-DE
Calc: threaded
@ann3nova i think good old boring #debian!
they got the world's best package collection, which is essentially all you need -- just pick the right packages and voila it's a lite distro.
plus they don't look at the hardware support with business value optics, which means a lot of niche hardware works.
in the evening i put the serious computer aside and use a trash picked netbook with 2g of ram because it got no fan yet is not going to set my bed on fire. using #gnome -- it's not the hog it used to be. #icewm worked very well for me and works with much less ram yet.
the package manager is very good and takes a lot less memory than my usual dnf on fedora
