This is the original middle finger of the right hand of #GalileoGalilei as it can be seen in the #MuseoGalileo, Istituto e Museo di Storia della Scienza in #Florence:

My personal highlight of this trip to Italy so far.

Yes, the #middlefinger gesture is old enough. Even old greeks and romans used it:

Maybe this (and the #catholicchurch forcing him to publicly revoke his findings) is why somebody decided to steal this part of his body when he was moved years after his death.

From now on, this picture will be awarded by me to anybody who is talking bullshit that was scientifically proven wrong already.

Got into the garden for 10 minutes between rain showers today to see if there was anything to photograph. Scrolling through them afterwards I could have sworn that I'd got a photo of a flower bud pinching a bees bum.

Sort of disappointed when I realised I'd got it wrong.

Social media nonsense disproven by researchers "Canadian researchers say there's no evidence that mouth taping has any health benefits and warn that it could actually be harmful for people with sleep apnea. Some social media ads and celebrity claims say that putting tape over the lips can help people breathe through the nose while sleeping, and thereby reduce snoring and improve rest." #socialmedia #nonsense #research schulich.uwo.ca/about/news-eve

How to avoid mid-year burnout

smh.com.au/lifestyle/health-an

Ah yes, i always appreciate valuable advice like this. Burning out mid-year is just so passé these days; one loses all one's vital social cachet. I much prefer to burn out early in the year, coz then all the rest is just pleasant coasting.

OMG, it continues! Reason I didn't have the whole thing is because this woman eventually deleted it from her Twitter. Not sure if she somehow developed the self-awareness to see how crazy her conclusion is, but there you go.

Yeah, no shit there is another group saying no to equal rights for trans people. But that doesn't mean trans people should actually be denied those rights. And no, one does not get into "the domination business" for standing up for their basic human rights.

The only dominance being exerted in this conflict is transphobes seeking to deny trans women equal rights and dignity.

"Do we have everything needed?"

"Yes, Doctor, we have the Sash of Rassilon, the Crown of Rassilon, the Key of Rassilon, the Rod of Rassilon, the Coronet of Rassilon, the Harp of Rassilon, the Ring of Rassilon, the Black Scrolls of Rassilon, the Lollipop of Rassilon, the Butt Cheeks of Rassilon, the Eye of Harmony and the Nose of Destiny.'"

"Ah, but we do not have the Suspenders of Rassilon."

"Drats! We're going to have to buy more Rassilon cereal to complete our set."

"Yes, and then, we will be able to assemble our own Rassilon, and defeat The Master!"

- "Hello Loop, I'm your designated human. I am going to be in you for a while, okay?"
- "Absolutely not!"
- "But I'm your human."
- "Perhaps you're supposed to be *on* me?"
- "But how are we supposed to play then? You have to be at my waist's height, you see, and then I turn my hips..."
- "No, stop this nonsense! You have me mistaken with Hoop."
- "Hoop?"
- "Hula Hoop, he's over there."
- "Oh, I see! Apologies for my confusion." 😳
- "Happens all the time." 😠
