Good morning from #Pasadena. Rained overnight and very light showers here and there so far. Today, 🌧️ & 15°-18°C (59°-64°F)

Starting the day slowly. Canceled the dog park earlier and will try to walk Moses instead, shortly.

Right now, just finished icing my back and doing my breathing exercises with my Visible app & device. This is much like meditation to me and this is the first time I’m ever able to keep doing it, most days, thanks to the app.

With the accompanying sound/music to make the breathing slow and rhythmic, I lose track of time and before I know it 15 min are over.

I started with 3 min, months ago. Did 10 for months. And just tried 15 last week. I love it! It both relaxes and energizes me!

Good morning from #Pasadena where it’s cool and gloomy. Had a bit of rain earlier, but that seems to be over now.

Moses & I still managed to hit La Crescenta Valley Dog Park early this AM for some serious ball-retrieving, his favorite! Not sure we'll be as lucky tomorrow because it sounds like rain starting overnight.

We go to the dog park Sunday, Monday, Thursday atm. Always La Crescenta. The other days we walk.

Here is one of my neighbour’s bird of paradise flower, in the driveway.

I have had more blooms on my own plants also this year (in the dog area), so I got to examine them closer as they open, both during cold or hot weather. The latter really speeds up the process and really allows the flower to fully bloom, revealing its complete self.

The orange parts are called sepals I believe and the blue darts are a combination petal & stamen which is also a perch for birds.

I used to think there was a single stamen, but it's because it's cool here when flowers open so they don't always open fully. #LiveAndLearn

Good morning fr #Pasadena. Went to #LaCrescentaValleyDogPark again this AM. Last minute decision bc tomorrow Saturday, husband has weight watchers at 7 &I cannot leave Finn alone :(

After only 10 minutes #MosesTheServiceDog was quite tired from the running. Not a lot of other dogs, but he loves the running!

I'm personally really enjoying this new dog park. I'm glad I no longer go to the Pasadena Park; too much upset, disappointment, and other issues there. It's becoming a trigger so I cannot go there for safety reasons… PLUS it's much more social that sometime I find it can become overbearing.

This is a BIG change I've made to avoid meltdowns: changing dog parks. When a situation is out of control (like issues with dog park hours and lack of maintenance), but complaining makes Pasadena employees & management hostile, it's unsafe because of triggers. My complaints are fair and do not deserve hostility.

Triggers can create an unsafe situation for #ActuallyAutistic people due to the high risk of emotional meltdown. And I've found out the hard way in SoCal that most southern Californians, when confronted with an #AutisticMeltdown, resort to aggression and hostility. So it becomes plain dangerous. Californians aren't as relaxed as they claim to be. They are just like New Yorkers except pretending to be chill.

You’re invited to a Southern California Type-In!

Good morning from #Pasadena. Gorgeous cool morning after a very hot day yesterday (35°C/95°F); but should be much cooler today with 29°C (84°F) and the last hot day of this mini heatwave.

Up early. Moses walked in Historic Highlands neighborhood this morning. Now off for a little gardening before it warms up too much.

Good morning from #Pasadena. Beautifully ☀️ this morning and currently 16°C (61°F). Forecast high: 27°C (81°F).

Waiting for husband to return from picking up prescription and some groceries, then heading to La Crescenta dog park with Moses. Husband was at hospital again yesterday which totally wore me out so I went back to bed after feeding the dogs this morning and only getting started now, after 10 AM.

While I wait for husband to return, I am watching the hummingbirds from my chair in the dog area. There is one sucking away at the feeder right now, enjoying himself with Moses directly under him, but he’s used to Moses so he doesn’t care.

Life can be though and scary but my advice: #DontWorryBeHappy, #LifeIsShort
