I've been tinkering with @penpot recently. I'm quite impressed so far and want to keep tinkering.
Penpot still needs to add support for Display P3 color profile before it can seriously replace Figma or Sketch for exporting production assets though.
For example, PowerPoint on Mac defaults to P3, so Penpot exported sRGB assets don't match the colors in the presentation template I'm designing.

I created a design tokens starter kit for @penpot and it’s now downloadable from the Penpot Hub.
If you try it, please let me know any feedback or feature requests. I’ll keep updating it for future Penpot releases.

I am really frustrated with #penpot. I need it to succeed but it just won't get it _quite_ right in executing.
The UI & UX for managing tokens for example is just so bad. I really want them to step up their game because it just fails in the necessary details.
A simple example is that in order for me to choose a token, for example a color, for a background color. It will not be presented as an option in background color, I must go to a different panel dedicated for token management. Like what
In my on going efforts to use #oss wherever possible, this weekend #penpot is getting added to our #selfhosting lab, #figma, I’m on the exit track. The sites abomination was the final prod.

I just love that @penpot supports design tokens natively.
