My perennial post to say

  1. No, Trump and Epstein and Gaetz aren't pedophiles (i.e., primarily attracted to prepubescent children)
  2. Pedophilia isn't a behavior, it's a set of thoughts and feelings
  3. The Lolita Express/Epstein thing is about child abuse or, if you prefer, child molestation or child sexual abuse, which are far worse than having a particular set of thoughts and feelings

But I get it. "Pedophile" just sounds so much worse, so of course we want to say that. The powerful people exploiting and abusing minors need to be held accountable. I wish that was happening without deepening our cultural misunderstanding of pedophilia, but at least there is pushback.
