When I have pinned blame on climate change on USian boomers as a generation, it is not simply ageism. It is lament of the fact that they have been in political power for a long time, and they aren't letting go of power. Under their lead, climate change has become the climate catastrophe and we have done little to nothing to avoid it.

The NYTimes just published a graphic that shows their grip on political power; the highest rate of increase on these graphs is in the last 10 years, when the oldest baby-boomers have become septuagenarians:
