So I registered for a karate seminar on the first weekend of December that I should go to but that I don't really want to go to. I should go because ever since we lost our dojo, I've been training virtually and it's been a long time since I've worked with another human body.
But if I get a new job - which is looking more likely as I've made it to the final rounds of interviews with at least one company I've been talking to - I won't have any vacation time so I won't be able to go for one of the 2.5 days of training anyway. I just couldn't overcome the FOMO to not hold my place though, just in case.
Oh well, I guess if I end up not being able (or willing) to go, I can just chalk up the seminar fee to me "supporting the federation" because that's what good #yudansha #karateka do.
Just found out that today (October 255th) is World #Karate Day. Shows you what a terrible #karateka I am.
However, I did celebrate it by actually doing some karate today, even out of ignorance of this glorious pseudo-holiday. I celebrated it by doing some #hakutsuru and some black belt ippons for warmup.
Was not even aware of the existence of this 2012 follow up to the classic #Karateka by @jmechner .
Added to Library for 3 quarters.

Strange but true: If you inserted the original #Karateka Apple II disc upside down, you could play through the entire game that way. You can toggle this as a pause-menu option in The Making of Karateka -- it was too cool not to preserve. :)
