New blog post time!
This week's game is Lock On, a PC-88 gambling game that's all about playing roulette so you can see various girls.
Between the repetition, lack of stakes, and very questionable direction it goes in, I can't say I recommend playing this! It is a curious little footnote, though:

| BOMB JACK | @AMSTRADVSMUNDO | ANALISIS COMPARATIVA | https://youtu.be/KkDFCMcPSnU?si=_naqQPUdxiOpucnU

New blog post time!
This week's game is Puzzle Kana?, a PC-88 doujin Sokoban game with a twist or two to offer. Not only are you pushing plenty of blocks, you're pushing balls into holes too! Cute intermissions break things up nicely as well.
And yes, the question mark is part of the game's title:

Escape from Rungistan bonus! I play the Japanese PC-88 version with entirely re-done graphics, and a different skiing minigame.

Hello all, I'm from the #FujiNet project, #ESP32 based, which aims to put a WiFi network adapter on every #retrocomputing and #retrogaming platform.
With this device, we can not only stream software to our favorite vintage computing devices, but we can also engage in cross platform gaming and other software.
We are trying to maximize our reach by working through a generic 8-bit parallel bus protocol that could be used on anything with a card edge; to use an #RP2040 as a bus front-end. This way, we could reach #TRS80 #IBMPC #NES #SMS #Intellivision #Atari2600 #MSX #S100 #PC88 #PC98 #Astrocade and so much more.

More pics from my PC 8801.
I got the floppies (TEAC 53Bs) out which was a chore. The mainboard is immaculate with a few socketed chips lots of TTH chips and one incongruous SMD LSI looking chip. The power supply, in contrast, is in really rough shape. It almost looks like it was under water at some point. I'm going to have to get a look inside before I'd think about powering it on. #retrocomputing #pc88 #nec
My PC 8801 mkii is the SR variant. So it has analog video with eight colors out of a pallete of 512. It also has this nice metal dome speaker which is driven by a Yamaha YM2203 sound chip so it ought to be able to crank out some sweet beeps and boops. #retrocomputing #pc88 #nec
In typical NEC fashion, the inside is crammed full of stuff. Interestingly, what I assume is the kana ROM is on a separate daughter board on top of the power supply. Also, the battery is in great shape and none of the caps I can see have leaked. Now, I have to decide if I want to spend twice what the computer cost to get a VGA cable. #retrocomputing #pc88 #nec
Let's see what a $25 PC 8801 mkii looks like. It came wrapped in a Japanese newspaper, it has the cardboard drive inserts and most of the plastic port caps. All of which are good signs. At some point it had an expansion card that is no longer with the system. #retrocomputing #pc88 #nec
I did something silly and I'm sorry. I bought an NEC PC 8801 mk II SR. But, in my defence, it was $25.
