To fill the boat's water tank at Canal & River Trust water points I use a garden hose (a.k.a. hosepipe) and a Waterways key.
It's now so cold, an unrolled hose laying across the towpath will stay stiffly coiled. Despite my verbal warnings, someone got snagged.
There's little traffic, but when it comes, it's couples from each direction, plus a cyclist, all 5 crossing the hose at the same moment.
The #CoobyDam is a #rockfill #embankment dam with an #ungatedSpillway across the Cooby Creek, a tributary of #CondamineRiver, at #Groomsville in the #Toowoomba Region on the #DarlingDowns, #Queensland, Australia. The main purpose of the dam is for #potable #waterSupply of the Toowoomba region. The impounded #reservoir is called the Cooby Creek Reservoir.

Stopped at a Canal & River Trust service station to fill the freshwater tank, today. It took a long time. The water pressure was OK, so after filling the tank, I unrolled the entire hose to look for a kink, and – sure enough – there was one.

Today, at a Canal & River Trust water point, I filled the freshwater tank. It took 20 minutes. (Was the flow restricted by a kinked hose??)
Moving on to a marina, I then emptied the brown water tank using a self-serve sewage pump. It's important to keep the 
hose submerged so the pump stays primed. If air gets in, the pump must be re-primed using a bucket of tap water – a job.
