privacy_guru<p>I updated my <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Pinephone" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Pinephone</span></a> and my <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Pinephonepro" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Pinephonepro</span></a> to see the current state of <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/mobilelinux" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>mobilelinux</span></a> and I really like many of the changes. I still need to insert my SIM card to see how well the cellular modem and texting work as of late, but I was saddened to see that last stable release <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Mobian" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Mobian</span></a> did was about two years ago. I did see they are still pushing weekly developer builds, however. How many people are daily driving their <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Pinephones" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Pinephones</span></a>? Which distributions are you using? What do you use your phone for?</p>

Ben Foote<p>I just want to give a HUGE shout out to all the developers working on <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/phosh" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>phosh</span></a> and <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/mobian" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>mobian</span></a> because the latest experience is amazing. I know there is no first class citizen Linux Mobile device, but the software has improved leaps and bounds over the last few years. Bravo to everyone involved. I only wish I could do more to help.</p>

@triskelion @purism I appreciate what GrapheneOS and other projects are doing. I wish gOS good luck in:
- getting early access to future #AOSP sources as development is no longer public.
- fixing the myriad of #Google shenanigans with the OS and Chromium.
- getting mental health help for the main developer - he deserves all the help he can get.

Unlike gOS, #Linuxphone development is not riding on decades of Google funded development of the OS. Progress is therefore slower but it is improving gradually.

Besides #PureOS, there is also #Mobian and #postmarketOS - I especially look forward to the latter's future #ImmutableOS version which would have security benefits as well.

I figured out how to get #LibreWolf working with mobile-config-firefox on #Librem5 running #Mobian #Trixie.

Since the recent change in #Mozilla terms of service, I was trying to use non mozilla browsers and succeeded mostly. On my #Debian sid laptop I mainly use gnome web (which uses #webkit).
But on #FLX1 I still have to use #Firefox. #FreeSoftware

Which of these smartphone OSes do you think is more secure currently? For whatever definition of "secure" feels right to you.

Some options have multiple variants, please vote based on the most secure variant you know of.

@dos @kannan For those who want to try, can install mobian-base, librem5-support and librem5-tweaks packages from people.debian.org/~praveen/mob on your #mobian #trixie install. I have also sent merge requests to all 3 packages. Hopefully this can be shipped in trixie by default. Our bounty to fix this properly in pipewire still stands opencollective.com/dephcom/pro
